Shortcut

Shortcut is a handy feature to simplify users' access to AccPal.com's service. Users can save report as shortcut to view later, users can also save common or recurring transactions to be added with just one click.

In addition to view the original date saved in shortcut. AccPal.com allows shortcut to auto update the date to reflect user's need. For example, user can have a report shortcut that always return results for the most current month.

The date format we use to explain shortcut is in YYYY-MM-DD formate, user should see different date format according to the localization setting in user's computer.

Terms

Color: Each shortcut is displayed as a button with background color, users can choose colors to easily distinguish different types of shortcut.
Display Name: The text to be displayed on shortcut.
Description: The text to be displayed when mouse move over the shortcut.

Update date to current date: Replace the saved date in shortcut with the most current date(today), does not apply to date range.

Update date to current month(retain the day):
Replace the saved date in shortcut with the most current month(example: 2009-10-05 will be replaced to 2010-07-05, assuming 2010-07 is the current month).
If the saved date is 2010-02-28, and current month is 2010-09, only the month will be converted(result: 2010-09-28).
However, if the saved date is 2010-08-31 and the current month is 2010-09, the date will get converted to 30 because there is no 31 in september.

Update date to last day of current month:
Replace the saved date in shortcut with the most current month(example: 2009-10-05 will be replace to 2010-07-05, assuming 2010-07 is the current month)
If the saved date is last day of its month, the saved date will be updated to last day of current month(example: 2010-02-28 to 2010-07-31, assuming 2010-07 is the current month).

Update date to last month:
Replace the saved date in shortcut with last month(example: 2009-10-05 will be replace to 2010-06-05, assuming 2010-07 is the current month).
If the saved date is last day of its month, the saved date will be updated to last day of last month(example: 2010-02-28 to 2010-06-30, assuming 2010-07 is the current month).

Update Year to most current year:
Replace the saved date in shortcut with the most current year(example: 2009-10-05 will be replace to 2010-10-05, assuming 2010 is the current year).

Types of Shortcut - Home

Home screen provides a summary of all expenses/incomes for all currency or account.
Under "Home" screen,
Set or customize the summary to display, click "View Summary"
User may click the green arrow next to "Menu" to save shortcut after the result is displayed.

Types of Shortcut - Report

Under "Report" screen,
Set or customize the report to display, click "View Report"
User may click the green arrow next to "Menu" to save shortcut after the report is displayed.

Types of Shortcut - Filtered Transactions

Under "Transactions" screen,
Click "Filter" and start refine your search by defining the filtered parameters, click "Show Filtered Result"
User may click the green arrow next to "Menu" to save shortcut after the result is displayed.
Notice user can only save transaction shortcut when filter is enabled.

Types of Shortcut - new Transactions

Click "Menu", under "New", click "New Transaction" on second column
Enter new transaction records as you normally do
You can enter as many lines of transaction records as you need
Before saving the new transactions(before clicking Add, or Add & New)
User may click the green arrow save shortcut
After the shortcut is saved, user can process to add new transactions by clicking add, or clicking close to cancel

To scroll shortcut lists

If user has many shortcuts, the list may not display all, AccPal.com will automatically detect if the list needs scrolling
Forward and Backward buttons will appear on both front and end of the shortcut list if scrolling is necessary
User may press each button to scroll the shortcut list from left to right or right to left

To access a shortcut

Simply click the shortcut icon to launch the shortcut

To "Drag & Drop" reorder a shortcut

User can use drag & drop to reorder shortcuts
Notice: the shortcuts appears in "New Transaction" can not be reordered
This is disabled due to a drag & drop bug in silverlight for firefox. This feature will be enabled after it's proved stable.

To reorder a shortcut(normal)

Right Click on a shortcut, on the context menu
select "Move Forward" to move the shortcut to one position left
select "Move Backward" to move the shortcut to one position right
Notice: the shortcuts appears in "New Transaction" can not be reordered

To edit a shortcut

Right Click on a shortcut, select "Edit" on the context menu

To delete a shortcut

Right Click on a shortcut, select "Delete" on the context menu
