Transaction

There aren't any standard way to record transactions, users should always try to explore and determine the more suitable way, we'll offer a few suggestions here:

Although it's not recommended due to confusion, user can mix and match different styles to meet different objectives. Understanding transaction

Grouping of transactions

When adding new transactions, user can add more than one transaction at a time. If more than one record of transactions is added, all the transactions added at that instance will be treated as a group, when editing a transaction within a group, all transactions within the group will be available to edit.
This grouping feature is especially useful for situations when user need to split transactions, or transfer money between accounts.

Terms

Date: The date when the transaction occurs. Required field.
Account: The associated account money flow in or out. Required field.
Description: A description for the transaction, note for lazy people, it can be blank.
Quantity: Postive value for incoming/buying quantity, negative value for outgoing/selling quantity.
Amount: Postive value for Incomes, negative value for Expense. Required field.
Person: The person associated with transaction.
Is Transfer: Indicating whether this is a transaction transfering money between accounts(used in reports because this is neither income nor expense).
Tags: User may only associated tags without child to a transaction, multiple tags can be associated to a transaction, however tags from the same branch will not be allowed to add to prevent duplicated results in reporting.

Adding new transactions

Currency, account is required before any new transaction is added.
To add new transactions, Click "Menu"
Under "New", Click "New transaction" on the second column
A popup window will open, and you may enter new transaction records

List all transactions

To list all transactions, Click "Menu"
Click "Transactions" on the first column

Search and Filter Transactions

Go to list all transactions
Click "Filter" and start refine your search by defining the filtered parameters, click "Show Filtered Result"

Shortcut - Filtered Transactions

Go to list all transactions
Click "Filter" and start refine your search by defining the filtered parameters, click "Show Filtered Result"
User may click the green arrow next to "Menu" to save shortcut after the result is displayed.
Notice user can only save transaction shortcut when the filter is enabled and the result is displayed.

Cancel Filtered Results

Click "Disable Filter" to cancel the filtered results and list all transactions

Exporting selected transations

To export all transactions, Click "Menu"
Click "Transactions" on the first column, user may click "Save To Excel" to export all transactions to excel.
Optinally user may export specific results by clicking Filter, and refine transactions to specific parameters
Click "Show Filter Result"
User may click "Save To Excel" after result is displayed.

Edit a transaction

Go to list all transactions
From there you can:
1. Double click on the transaction from the list
2. Right click on the transaction from the list and select "Edit"

Delete a transaction

Go to list all transactions
From there you can:
1. Select transaction from the list, and hit "Delete" button on your keyboard
2. Right click on the transaction from the list and select "Delete"
